Wulf, The False Demon Prince

Original (Non-Fandom) Backstory

Wulf was born as a normal, neanderthalic child during the mid-late Paleolithic era. His name can only be recalled, from the dregs of that time, as "Ōnāy". His family exiled him and his parents after a brief argument on encroaching predators and the need to gain more territory. They soon performed one of mankind's first, but to be one of many sacrificial rituals throughout history... His parents were slaughtered after an ambush upon their new home. They used the blood to summon an ancient demon, one that took possession of the body belonging to Ōnāy. This was planned, and something the Hells were waiting for in eagerness. That demon was the 'King' or 'Lord' of Hounds, Athurak.Athurak... The reason for choosing the chance for fusion with a human soul when given the opportunity actually wasn't malicious. He was simply tired of existing for so long as 'Lord of Hounds'. So, during the fusion, he allowed Ōnāy to have the choice to stop it. Ōnāy asked only one question. Were his parents suffering any longer? Athurak answered truthfully. No, they weren't. So, Ōnāy allowed the both of themselves to fuse into an entirely new being. From this transformation, Ōnāy was taken to the Hells, but was a completely blank slate. The first ever perfect fusion of souls caused the past memories of both to become lost. Perhaps it wasn't so "perfect" after all. After losing the memories of both Athurak and Ōnāy, Satan tries to have the memories of the former demon lord recovered, and put the being then known as Wulf through training. After years (around fifteen in Hell, one-hundred on Earth) of trying to get Athurak back to his former self, and even release the form that was apparently locked away, they try other tactics. One thing leads to the next, and the demon lords soon find themselves enthralled by Wulf's unique body. He gains the title of 'prince' to protect him but also designate him to demons of higher power/authority.During this, Wulf was very confused, not understanding what he was being put through at first before eventually learning to enjoy the 'pampering' he received. He wasn't abused, however. Far from. The lords utterly adored 'their creation', and some would even try to soul bond with him to be bound mates eternally.Wulf's human body didn't shed, but instead, it naturally grew as time went on, becoming older but stopping such growth of his body at somewhere in his mid-late twenties after decades passed. While living in the Hells, with the age of man approaching the Iron Age, he was a highly requested and talked about individual. Wulf was still kept away from the public eye like a celebrity being harassed by paparazi. He put up with quite a lot of attention from the stronger lords and princes, the rumors of how magickal he was in bed being common gossip. However, after living in the Hells for so long, he ventured out into Earth after a portal opened itself near where he was at that time, wanting to know what was so special about it and humanity. As they now say, curiosity killed the cat. From the moment Wulf set his foot onto the soil and lush grass after leaving the stray tear in space he had found, his desire to live in the world became a priority. He arrived in Europe during the very early start to the Renaissance era. The mid 1400s. He decided to get closer to humanity by living closer to the villages, hiding in vacant homesteads or farm homes where he could consume cattle and easily escape...A few months went by with ease for the curious demon. That was until the villagers found the twisted and partially devoured remains of a family that found him in their farm. As humans are, they immediately sought to kill him rather than ask questions of what or who he was. Wulf had also gained a taste of human flesh after simply feeding off wildlife and the energy of souls in the Hells for so long. The villagers' torches were lit, and the iron-bound pitchforks were brought forth. He escaped the village by utilizing the darkness of the night, and from that night on, he would move from village to village, town to town, and wouldn't stay in one place for long.Up until the late 1700s, he would struggle with himself and his unlocked desires, until he made an agreement with himself, an agreement that he would feed on humans to keep himself strong once every full moon. However, the day he first consumed human flesh on Earth, he unlocked something deep within himself. Which also let other newer demons and other creatures know of his presence, sensing the awakening of something extremely powerful. If those beings knew, than more ancient ones would soon learn about the former demon lord's new life...He was able to blend in with society to a higher degree with his more human appearance after his first feeding, unfortunately not without discrimination and the consequences that came with such biased mentality. After getting into a rather unpleasant confrontation, Wulf decided further attempts to absorb himself into society was a horrible idea, so the demon went back to observing from afar, watching humanity continue to expand and continue to transform into a corrupted mass. And yet, darkness could not be without light. There were many of whom that had managed to befriend him, despite him trying his best to keep his distance. Some turned out to be abusers and betrayers of his trust, others turned out to be amazing individuals that showed him the best of humanity... Until that light was snuffed out in one way or another by another human's hand or by the cycle of life itself. One of the few lights in his spiraling life had been a lover. A human that Wulf had become close to very early on in his partially awakened state. Taught him basic knowledge despite what he was. Only to be killed a few years later by a woman filled with jealousy and disgust towards Wulf after finding out about him. The woman was a devout worshipper of Christianity, and so, she drew forth the attention of an arch angel she prayed to. One who set their eyes upon the 'blasphemy' of the demon. He was captured, tortured and treated like an experimental rat for two hundred mortal years. The experiments mostly involved trying to bring out his forgotten form. The true demon within him. Fighting, starvation from forced survival attempts, his body being put under extreme stress tests... He couldn't remember much aside from moments of those experiments, but he managed to escape after a brief mental break, transforming into the true form of Athurak. After the escape he couldn't remember a thing, only that he had been harmed for too long, and that he got away with angelic runic symbols that trailed across his left side. Unfinished scripture left behind by his captor to seal away his demonic powers/essence permanently.Wulf learned how to better blend into humanity shortly after his return by the time the mid-to-late 1900s came around, which he spent his time in France during and after the Nazi Occupation of Europe. He gained a rather rebellious personality from the environment, killing some soldiers on the sly out of view of the public if he was approached in an authoritative way.Of course, it didn't go unnoticed, and Wulf was soon found and captured, brought in to the stockade and immediately questioned. They weren't gentle with the interrogation, but, Wulf was quiet. Observant. Defiant. The officers were tempted to sent him further down the chain of command, but a general objected. Instead, tossin the bruised and beaten 'man' onto the streets. The black blood that stained the officers' fists was put into question, but someone or something stopped their prying for further information. It was known that the prying would lead to piquing a scientist's interest, and that leading to experiementation. They had other pressing matters at hand.Wulf immediately left Paris and made it to one of the free town after escaping the occupation zone, finding his way into Toulouse and finding refuge there for the time until the war had ended. While living there, he became known as the town's architect, as he aided with fixing up the homes of the townspeople.Once the world knew that the war had been won, Wulf decided that perhaps he should go to the apparent "land of the free", and so he took the next ship there after some persuasion of citizens he had neighbored with. Wulf learned that the humans there had gone through another cycle of desiring unobtainable power over others. Whether it was other humans or creatures. He had seen it before, though the degree of this was a bit... Much. It was nauseating. He found a living, hiding his true self, as a laborer since other jobs didn't quite work out the way he preferred. Hunting wasn't an option since mass breeding of livestock was becoming abundant. One day, he was given a request to do some architectural work, as it was found that he had done some in Europe. Who had given up such information was still unknown to him. Unfortunately, despite his hard work, this time it went unacknowledged and uncredited. It wasn't the first time he was taken advantage of, and wouldn't be the last.Up until the late 1900s is when he stopped working, as people noticed that his body stayed strong while theirs became weaker. He stayed healthy, while many passed from the various inconvenient human illnesses and diseases.Wulf would suffer from the illnesses as well, however, only for short periods of time before getting back to work. Once he noticed that people were suspicious, he immediately left with his certifications, permits, licenses, and any other papers he could scavenge to try and find another job elsewhere, which gradually led him to the state of Nevada where he would simply have himself as retired with some forging of documents.By this time... The lie of him being retired was upheld until the early 2010s, where they assumed he had passed away. Due to the drastic change of things during this time, especially with the introduction of technology, Wulf began to shy away from working with others and instead began to observe those around him again, watching what humans created and how they acted. With this, he took the opportunity to just lay low until he was able to sort some plans out, living in an apartment within Portland, Oregon for the time.
